Raewyn Forsyth has been working with children for over 18 years, in both Early Childhood Education and the Primary School sector. She is a registered Teacher in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and a qualified Teacher Aide. She also worked as an Education Support Worker (ESW) for many years, and been a Caregiver for Child, Youth and Family Services.
As a parent of a young adult with Aspergers and Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD), she is passionate about children with learning difficulties. She is very keen to share her experience and knowledge to help not only the children but parents too. She believes that every child is unique and deserves happiness and fulfilment in their learning. A child needs to feel a sense of identity and self-worth that helps them develop into confident and competent learners. She has been involved in many organisations such as Riding for the Disabled (RDA), Autism New Zealand (Waikato) and Plunket, Parent to Parent New Zealand (Waikato) and Aspergers Connections Waikato.
